It came down to the wire, maybe as close as the closest of races at Derby Downs but now actor-producer Corbin Bernsen says Akron's got what it takes to move ahead on his vision of a film about the All-American Soap Box Derby.
It would be great to have a million-dollar look, but Bernsen told WAKR's Ray Horner last week he was looking at a more modest $500,000 budget for the film. It'll start shooting in April for the Akron feel, then interiors in California before returning to the Rubber City for soapbox time.
